The Budget view tracks a project's amounts: what is planned, what is spent or collected. It is available depending on your organisation's options.
Choosing the tracking mode
The first time you open the Budget view, choose what you want to track:
Expenses only
To track a project's costs.
Expenses and revenue
To track the balance of a funded or invoiced project.
Revenue only
To track what the project brings in.
Defining the envelope
The envelope is the budget allocated to the project. It can be split by year: the overall envelope is then the sum of the yearly envelopes. Each year shows a consumption gauge.
Daily rates
You can set a default daily rate for the project, and a rate for each member. The cost of the planned workload is then calculated automatically (workload × rate) and included in the budget.
Good to know: budget and rate settings are reserved for the project's administrators and owner.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change mode later?
Yes, from the Budget view settings, if you have the rights.
Where are expense categories defined?
