Creating and detailing a task

Title, assignees, dates, status, priority, description, files and comments: everything a task contains.

The task is the unit of work in Gladys. It can stay very simple (a title) or carry all the detail needed to complete it.

Creating a task

You can create a task from almost every view: at the bottom of a Kanban column, in a list of the List view, on the Gantt timeline or in the calendar. Enter its title and confirm: the task is created, and you complete it afterwards.

A task's sheet

Click a task to open its sheet:

  • Assignees — the colleagues in charge of the task.
  • Dates — start and end, which place it in the Gantt chart and the calendar.
  • Status and priority — where the task stands and how important it is.
  • Description — the details of what needs to be done.
  • Files — useful documents, to drag and drop into the sheet.
  • Comments — discussions about the task, with @mentions.

The cover image

A task can have a cover image, shown on its card in the Kanban board. It isn't mixed with the task's files.

The action menu

A task's menu groups the common actions: duplicate it, move it to another list, add it to favourites or delete it.

Good to know: mention a colleague with @ in a comment: they get a notification and go straight to the task.

Frequently asked questions
